Andy Kaufman was a genius of humor. Not that I speak for not being a genius, do not think I can judge that, but it was humor. Do not know people laugh, the same as saying “I’ve never told a joke”, and yet laugh.

Maybe a genius!

Andy was born in 1949 in New York and although he was always considered a comedian really was one of the clearest examples of the movement called anti-humor that he wanted something more complicated than the joke with an easy laugh, he used more irony and the public’s feelings to get what he wanted.

Although laugh, never considered as such, preferring to think of himself as a dancer and singer, something that is clear and direct in their actions in which he is seen singing in more than one occasion accompanied by bongos music that it created it was also a composer.

As his fame grew it was decided to turn it into something more than just a contributor to the program and this is how his Foreign Man character would become in the television series Taxi Latka which coincide with other actors like Danny DeVito or Christopher Lloyd who would make of himself in the biopic of Andy Kaufman. Although Kaufman was not just a passion for television series and agreed that change could make a special show.

Latka’s character came to have such recognition for his appearances, selling lunch boxes and other merchandise, which more than one occasion had to represent him when he made his tours because the public wanted to see.

Clifton was a singer who performed at various clubs and with which Kaufman said she felt indebted since followed suit, which did not cause great impact on Tony Clifton. It really began to doubt whether it was a character created or ever existed and even performed together was one of the requests for Andy to go by Taxi, Tony Clifton could act …

but guest star appeared on one occasion had to be drawn from the study for safety after a terrible sight mounted on the recording. With only 35 years after many performances and many jokes behind him, Andy Kaufman died. Months before his death he was diagnosed with lung cancer but decided not to reveal until the very end.

Andy Kaufman died on May 16, 1984 in the city of Los Angeles.
