An insider said, the former couple is now closer than ever and they are talking every day about patching up their broken marriage.
And 20-year-old footballer Ashley Cole’s last week very public statement, when he wore his diamond-encrusted, £200,000 wedding ring, was the biggest sign that things are getting really serious between the couple.
Despite their extreme efforts to never be seen together, it is reported that ‘Fight for this Love’ hit-maker Cheryl and her Chelsea footballer ex husband Ashley have been secretly meeting up for the past several months now.
An inside said, ‘I was at Cheryl’s last October when Ashley came downstairs with no top on.’

Another source revealed that Cheryl and Ashley Cole secretly met up in London last month in May and then again last Tuesday for a private dinner with friends including Kimberly Walsh and Sarah Harding.
