Founded in 1988, band ‘Bell Biv DeVoe “has published a total of 23 R & B albums. Bell Biv DeVoe currently consists of the band members Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe and Michael Bivins. The group of various artists and bands such as, for example, Bobby Brown and The Jackson 5 was affected. The musical style of Bell Biv DeVoe is reminiscent of similar R & B bands, like Ralph Tresvant, Guy and Johnny Gill.
Bell Biv Devoe result of collaboration between Ricky Bell, a former member of the group New Edition, Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe. Singer Bobby Brown is associated with this project new jack swing until 1986.
Two years later, the trio released their first album produced by Heart break Hank and Keith Shocklee, among other producers of Public Enemy. On the tour that follows, Bell Biv Devoe decides to start a career at three. He signed the Poison album in 1990.
The singles Poison, Do me! and She’s dope! are tubes. The album sold over three million copies. It is followed by a remix album the next year. Michael Bivins discovered and produced his side Boyz II Men. In 1993, Bel Biv Devoe recorded the album Hootie Mack not as successful as its predecessor. In 1996, three members of the group participate in the meeting of the group New Edition.
Ricky, Michael and Ronnie have performed together since 1982 in the teen pop group NEW EDITION, created in the image and likeness JACKSON 5. As they get older and change their musical tastes, the guys decided to go their own way. We’ll take the final concert tour with the NEW EDITION, BELL BIV DEVOE began recording their debut album, called Poison.
The results of their work showed a marked departure from the repertoire NEW EDITION: became a bit more funk, lyrics and vocal performance – a far more sexually suggestive, and the overall sound was synthesized from the hip-hop and er-end-bi. This symbiosis is known as “New Jack Swing» (new jack swing).
Title track, the album quickly climbed to the third line of the American charts, also successfully got lyrics Do Me!, BBD (I Thought It Was Me), When Will I See You Smile Again? and Dope!. Turned out a brilliant debut: the album was sold over 3 million copies.
