Betty Nguyen, who left CNN News sometime ago has recently joined CBS News Network according to reports.
CBS News Network reported that the former CNN employee Betty Nguyen is going to be the co-anchor for the Morning News, while she will also be reporting for the CBS networks “The Early Show.”
The 35-year-old Betty Nguyen was the co-anchor for CNN news networks Saturday & Sunday Morning; she also had co-anchored the “CNN Newsroom” over the weekends alongside T.J Holmes. Betty Nguyen has covered domestic major stories for the CNN News Network as well as global.
Betty Nguyen had worked for a CBS affiliate in the past before joining CNN News Network; she served in Dallas and Waco for the affiliated CBS network.
The regional Emmy winner Betty Nguyen is the first Vietnamese-American to be named as the anchor for any national TV news channel in United States by the Smithsonian. She made it to the list of top 10 hottest news anchors in 2008 by Maxim. Com.
It was said earlier that Russ Mitchell anchor for CBS “Early Show” would leave to become the national correspondent for the Network, while continue anchoring CBS Evening News of Sunday. Just like Betty Nguyen, Russ Mitchell also left CNN News Network to join CBS News and replace Mitchell.
It has also been speculated that Anderson Cooper might join CBS News Network, as he met with the Network few months ago. It is said that if Anderson Cooper joined the network, he would replace Katie Couric for “CBS Evening News” as her contract expires in 2011.
