According to the Blagojevich Verdict that came Tuesday afternoon, former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has been found accountable on only one count out of all those 24 massive corruption charges laid in opposition to him in the Federal Courts.

The Blagojevich Verdict charged the accused politician only for lying to federal agents and for all other 23 counts that Rod Blagojevich was facing, a mistrial is intended to be declared by the jury members.

Although the ‘Blagojevich Verdict’ is, in effect, a remarkable victory for the Blagojevich brothers, who were accused of trying to trade President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat and that the former governor had tried to misuse the power of his office.

However, Sente, who voted with 113 other representatives to accuse Blagojevich in January 2009, added that the deadlocked counts from the jury can not in any way change his observation that the case against Rod Blagojevich was a strong one, as he said “I remain confident that his removal from office was a necessary step in the fight to end corruption here in Illinois”.

The Blagojevich Verdict, which was read on Tuesday 17th August, 2010 out in a Chicago court room, came after the jury members had debated almost two complete weeks over the allegations faced by Blagojevich and finally concluded that he hadn’t been engaged in all up-stated allegations.

However, as it usually happens in every politician related verdict, the Government prosecutors have made a vow to retry the case as soon as it is possible. They said “we’ll push ahead for retrial”. Following the appeal of prosecutors, a hearing has been set by Judge James B. Zage, for the 26th of August, to determine the manner and timing of the retrial.
