Bob Guccione, the founder of Penthouse magazine has died on Wednesday in Plano hospital due to cancer. Bob Guccione was 79 year old at the time of his death.

The family of Bob Guccione issued a statement that Bob Guccione died after a long battle with cancer at Plano Specialty Hospital on Wednesday.

Bob Guccione was born in Brooklyn, New York and he introduced Penthouse magazine in 1969. The Penthouse magazine was named as the magazine of politics, protest and sex.

According to the reports, Bob Guccione estimated that his magazine earned $4 billion during his time of publication though he lost most of his personal wealth on risky ventures and inappropriate investment.

Bob Guccione also established General Media Inc. a corporate empire of merchandising divisions and book publishing.

Kathy Keeton and Bob Guccione, the long term business partners also published Omni magazine that was specialized in science and longevity, science fiction and a health related issues. Bob Guccione married kathy Keeton and she became his third wife.

Kathy Keeton also suffered from cancer and died in 1997 after having a surgery. Bob Guccione continued to name her on the masthead of Penthouse as President.

General Media Inc filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and a private investor acquired Penthouse in a sale.

The details of funeral services plans of Bob Guccione are yet to be released. Bob Guccione is survived by his fourth wife and children.
