It is reported that Republican contender, Tim Pawlenty, had difficulties generating funds from his party. That was quite a huge reason behind a weaker election campaign for him. Apart from that, critics claim that his direct attack on Michelle Bachmann during the GOP debate at the Iowa State University, led to his downfall as well. While talking about her eligibility, Tim Pawlenty said, “Is she unqualified, or is she just leading you in the polls?” Bachmann responded fiercely by establishing herself as a ‘fighter’ and proving that Tim Pawlenty was nothing more than a failed governor.

Tim Pawlenty apologized to all his supporters for not contesting anymore. He said, “I wish it would have been different, but obviously the pathway forward for me doesn’t really exist.”

Well, with Tim Pawlenty’s withdrawal, who is going to benefit the most? Would this augment the chances of Michelle Bachmann’s victory?

Previous Minnesota governor, Tim Pawlenty finished third; an expected result after a weak election campaign. After winning the straw poll, Michelle Bachman said while addressing all her supporters present at the straw grounds, “This is the very first step toward taking the White House in 2012. Now it’s on to all 50 states.” Michelle Bachman bagged 29 percent of the votes, slightly more than the 28 percent votes received by Ron Paul. Her success in the recent straw poll is a clear indication that the American public is attracted towards the ‘fiscal conservative’ believes of the Republicans. Bachmann is also advocating for the reduction in taxes and exclusion of government intervention from the lives of the general public.

Like Mitt Romney (contestant for the presidency from the Republican Party), Michelle Bachman also doesn’t agree with the economic policies of President Obama; claiming that he is too naïve to manage the country after the economic crunch.

Well, victory in the straw poll has certainly strengthened Michelle Bachman’s standing; yet there is a lot of work that needs to be done if she wants to ensure her victory at the national level!

According to the WashingtonPost, even before Mitt Romney went on to explain the rational behind not raising taxes, a protester shouted ‘Corporation’! He was asking Romney to tax corporations heavily. Mitt Romney replied, ‘Corporations are people, my friend.’ A group of people from the front row replied, ‘No, they are not’. Romney was also quick to explain his previous statement by saying, “Of course they are. Everything corporations earn ultimately goes to people. Where do you think it goes?” Chairwoman of Democratic National Committee also deplored Mitt Romney for what he said in the public. She said, “Mitt Romney’s comment today that ‘corporations are people’ is one more indication that Romney and the Republicans on the campaign trail and in Washington have misplaced priorities,” she said in a statement, calling the comment a “shocking admission.”

Mitt Romney tried to tell his audience that why he was the best possible choice for the presidency. With a 25 year experience in the private sector and thorough knowledge of the economic system, he could speed the process of recovery from the struggling phase, for America.  Mitt Romney claimed, “Sometimes I wonder whether [Obama] takes his political inspiration from the social Democrats of Europe. I don’t think Europe is working there. I sure don’t think Europe will work here. I happen to believe that we got it right and they got it wrong. I believe in freedom and opportunity, American-style.”

According to the Telegraph, Mrs. Mensch accused on a committee hearing earlier on the same day that Morgan had accepted the allegation and was also boasted that it got him an award.

Also to support her allegation, she referred to ‘The Insider’, Morgan’s diaries in 2005. She quoted that there was a ‘little trick’ by which a caller could ‘hear all your messages’ simply by writing a ‘standard four-digit code’ on reaching voicemail.

“In that book he boasted that using that ‘little trick’ enabled him to win scoop of the year on a story about Sven Goran Eriksson. So there is a former editor of the Daily Mirror being very open about his personal use of phone hacking”, were the incorrect remarks of the MP, told TVNZ.

“I’m amused by her cowardice in refusing to repeat that allegation now that she’s not in parliament covered by privilege,” Morgan said in retaliation. “She came out with an absolute blatant lie during those proceedings. At no stage in my book or indeed outside of my book have I ever boasted of using phone hacking for any stories.”

Morgan also asked her to give legitimate evidence to back her claim saying, “If there is no evidence for that, are you going to publicly apologize to me, and to CNN right now for such an outrageous lie?”

In answer Mrs. Mensch replied, “I feel no need whatsoever to apologize.”

Yesterday on Monday June 27, 2011, HollywoodReporter reported the 54 year old once a Celebrity Apprentice participant Blagojevich was found guilty of trying to sell Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat. The charges included wire fraud, attempted extortion, bribery and conspiracy, and the verdict came as the Chicago jurors deliberated for nine days at Blagojevich’s retrial.

Blagojevich was also found guilty of holding up official acts on the Illinois Tollway, a school grant, horse-racing legislation and the Children’s Memorial Hospital, and even though federal guidelines are likely to dictate a much shorter sentence, Blagojevich could now face up to 300 years in jail.

According to DailyMail, Blagojevich has now been barred from travelling outside the northern Illinois area without permission, and the judge set a status hearing for sentencing on August 1.

Federal guidelines and previous sentences handed down to other Illinois politicians guilty of corruption suggest he could get around ten years in prison. However, judges have a huge amount of discretion, and can factor in a host of variables, including whether a defendant took the stand and lied, something prosecutors say Blagojevich did.

In her email to Mr. Weiner on January 2, 2011, Ginger writes, “Just tell me what to do or say, this stuff is so far out of my league I can’t even pretend to know what to do.”

To this, Weiner responsibly replied “I want you to make decisions that help you be healthy and sane. We need to be zen about this.”

“I’m going to stop talking about this. No new oxygen,” continued Weiner – who allegedly used Congressional resources during his cyber crimes.

Ginger, who utterly denied being called herself a stripper during a news conference with Gloria Allred and as an alternative preferred to be called a FEATURED DANCER, seems to be having a bit of an identity issue now since, in her emails to Weiner, she herself referred to herself as, “The most famous stripper in America right now.”

She also wrote, “I am getting offers from strip clubs all over the country, but do not want to do the stripper cashes in w/clubs because she may or may not have communicated w/somebody thing.”

The former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney managed to throw a few cheap applause lines about the Boston Bruins, at one point informing the crowd that they were up 4-0, along with the strong attacks on the health care plan that was supposed to be the albatross around his campaign.

Last night’s presidential debate, for Romney especially, was a hat trick – he successfully donned a rather presidential look, avoided any serious scrapes and managed to come across as a reasonably warm human being.

Nevertheless, Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who formally announced her campaign shortly after the debate began, left no stone unturned proving herself equal to the task as well. Rather contrary to Romney’s presidential look, Michele was concise, firm and likable, playing to the crowd without sounding like a blatant panderer.

Conclusively, being very truthful, last night was a clear dreary evening for former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, who botched a fastball down the center of the plate, saying, “I’d use a hockey analogy if I knew one,” when given the opportunity to rip the health care plan overseen by Romney.

Mian Nawaz Sharif is staying at his Latter’s Park Lane apartment due to his health issues. He underwent a heart surgery last month with went successful and is now convalescing in London.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is in London on a private visit to see his son Haider Gilani who also underwent a surgical procedure recently.

PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s son Hassan received PM Gilani.

Talking to the reporters after his meeting with Nawaz Sharif, PM Gilani said he had been in contact with Mr Sharif over the phone and wished to call on him to inquire after his health.

Pakistani High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hassan accompanied PM Gilani on his visit to Mr Sharif’s London residence, where two leaders exchanged views for half an hour.

Mian Nawaz Sharif said he would soon return to Pakistan and thanked the people of Pakistan for praying for his health.

The governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad called on President of Pakistan Ali Zardari at his Karachi house ‘Bilawal House’ late in the evening yesterday on Monday March 14, 2011 in a ‘cordial’ meeting, Farahat Ullah Babar President’s spokesman said.

Rehman Malik the Interior Minister of Pakistan who arrived here in Karachi from London after his meeting with Muttahida Quami Movement ‘MQM’ leader Altaf Hussain yesterday evening on Monday also joined the meeting at the Bilawal House.

Farahat Ullah Babar told the press media in a post-meeting address that the Rehman Malik, Dr. Ishratul Ibad and President Zardari stress that political reconciliation is vital for the sake of political stability in Pakistan once again.

It has also been decided in the meeting that strict actions must be taken against the criminals, irrespective of the religious, institutional or political affiliations.

Earlier in the day Rehman Malik briefed President Zardari on his meeting with MQM leader Altaf Hussain in London, upon his arrival here in Karachi.

Babar Awan said, the government is not looking to hold mid-term or short-term elections.

During his speech at the oath ceremony Babar Awan rejects the idea that Pakistan People’s Party believes in horse-trading. He said PPP do not need horse-trading in order to prove its majority.

Federal Law Minister Babar Awan said during his speech that his party ‘PPP’ will not leave the government before completing its 5-year term.

Meanwhile, on the same day the Interior Minister Rehman Malik addressing to media reporters outside Parliament House said that he does not believe in giving deadlines in politics. He was referring to the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PML-N 10-point agenda deadline, which is due on February 25.

He added that deadlines are for school exams not for politics.

Rahman Malik also said that the decision to approve the 10-point agenda by the governing party was taken because PML-N and PPP shares several foals, provided in the agenda.

He said if the problems of Pakistan are needed to be solved and in order to solve these problems unity and consensus is a must.
