On Thursday 6th May, 2010 – Charla Nash, the woman attacked by a good friend’s chimpanzee, left the Cleveland Clinic for an assisted living center in Boston.

Her family lawyer said “Nash was discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening and flew to Boston area by a private plane, where she will learn some skills deemed as necessary to live an independent life”.

The gruesome incident happened in February 2009; when Charla Nash came near to help her best friend while she was trying to attract her 200 pound pet chimpanzee in her house. The police killed the beast after attacking her but Charla Nash suffered a scar on his face and loss of eyesight.

Her family has supported her and rarely left her alone. According to her brother, who is very close to her, Nash is a real life fighter.

Nash gave the most credit to her daughter for why she was able to fight through the pain and physical therapy. She said that “my daughter loves me very much and stays by my side every time I need her”.

Last January, Charla Nash’s family said “we are planning to shift her in other hospitals for the transplants as the Cleveland Clinic has denied performing handing and face transplant surgeries.

The officials at Cleveland Clinic stated Friday “Ms. Charla Nash has recovered amazingly and now when she is doing great, we have decided to discharge her”.

Charla Nash’s family is willing to sue Sandra Herold, the chimpanzee owner, with a huge sum of $50 million.
