Dan Resin, the well known American actor and television pitchman, has died over the last weekend after suffering multiple medical complications during his treatment at the Oakland Care Center. The 79-year-old star was a patient of Parkinson’s disease.
Dan Resin’s daughter told the Associated Press in a report published on Monday “my father passed away on Saturday 31st July, 2010 in Oakland, New Jersey, due to complications from Parkinson’s’ disease”.
Dan Resin Born on 22nd February, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana as Daniel Wrzesien, he played several roles in his long-stretched acting career; however, he was best known for being the Ty-D-Bol man in toilet cleaner TV ads and the depiction of obnoxious Dr. Beeper in the big-screen comedy classic titled ‘Caddyshack’.
Dan Resin kicked off his career as a junior stage actor playing in ‘My Fair Lady and ‘Once Upon a Mattress’ on Broadway during the mid 1950’s, but later shifted towards the golden screen his first film titled ‘Deadhead Miles’. Dan Resin also starred as former President Richard Nixon in the 1972 comedy film ‘Richard’.
In year 1974, Dan Resin opted to be a Eucharistic minister at a church in Secaucus. He served the church until 2006 and last year, Dan Resin received the honor of Life Time Achievement by the American Theater Wing School as a part of the organization’s scholarship program.
Dan Resin, a brilliant actor who was well aware of his craft and will always be remembered for his interesting work, is survived by his wife, three children along with five grandchildren.
