Dean Koontz Books- May these books brought back the audience to the theaters will remain an open question till the time the first project comes in the shape of celluloid.

Ralph Winter and Terry Botwick have recently acquired the film rights of Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein. The famous producers who have at their credit movies like X-Men, Fantastic Four and Planet of the Apes have shown their interest in turning the book into a franchise.

Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein is a story of a doctor who is socially prominent and a successful businessman and his creation Deucalion who is a super human. The story is set in modern day New Orleans.

While speaking about Dean Koontz books, both producers have iterated that these books carry enough twists and turns to bring back the public to the theaters for many coming years.

A pair of street smart detectives is the center point of the story and when they come across Deucalion, while investigating about a murder, the story gets into an array of humanly engineered super humans.

Three titles of Dean Koontz book, Frankenstein series include Prodigal Son, Dead and Alive and City of Night. All these three titles have been published whereas fourth Lost Souls is going to be released in June. Fifth and sixth title of the Dean Koontz books will come in 2011 and 2012.

Turning a book into a franchise is not a new idea and both Winter and Botwick have the experienced the success of their earlier projects based on books, so let us hope for another sci-fi cum human thriller they may not have any romantic moments in it.
