After beating Tony Colette of ‘The United States of Tara’ and Tina Fey of ‘30 Rock’ in a race down to victory, Edie Falco has finally got her hands on the Emmy.
Favorite Edie Falco bagged the ‘Lead Actress Comedy Series’ Emmy award for her role in ‘Nurse Jackie’ on the eve of 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards. During the three hour long Emmy ceremony, which held just last night on Sunday 29th August, 2010 at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Edie Falco was looking extremely hot and sexy in her blue dress as she setoff from her seat to grace the stage and accept her award.
Edie Falco won the Emmy for her role as the lead actress in an American dark comedy series called ‘Nurse Jackie’. It is not the first time when we saw Edie Falco getting her hands on a prestigious award in any category as previously Edie Falco has also taken home the best actress award for being the leading lady in another American TV drama series called ‘The Sopranos’, a drama that went on to run for six successful season and where Edie Falco’s role as ‘Carmela’ helped her a lot to win three awards for being a lead actress.
However, it is for the first time ever in American Television history that a TV actress has won Emmys for a lead role on consecutive series and an actress who has won the prior award for drama & tragedy is getting her next for top class comedy!
That truly reveals her versatility, isn’t it?
