(05news) – In a double elimination shocker last night, The Apprentice saw Lord Sugar giving Ellie Reed and Vincent Disneur the firing finger.
Both of them came clung when they failed to deliver on a dog food advertising task. While the multi millionaire technology mogul Sugar initially turned on self-proclaimed ladies’ man Vince and gave him the elimination chit on the spot for being too in awe of other contestants in the BBC One show, Ellie was initially given the red card for piping up at the wrong time.
However, the 33 year old businesswoman Ellie was of the view Vince got the boot only because of his too overconfident reaction to her firing.
“He should have just fired Vince. He certainly didn’t smooth talk me or any of the other girls in there and I don’t think Lord Sugar is the type of person who can be smooth-talked by someone like Vince. I think he thought he was too smug when I got fired and just decided off the cuff to fire him as well. I don’t think it was decided in advance, it was just Vince’s cocky reaction and thinking he’d escaped it that landed him in it,” said Ellie.
Meanwhile, the 29 year old self-assured sales manager Vince admitted he didn’t think Lord Sugar would be pointing the finger at him, adding “The hair flung back and I thought I would be OK. I thought he was going to send us back to the house, have a go at me and say, ‘Pick it up’ and go from there, but he made the decision to fire me as well.”
