‘Gates of Hell’ is usually referred to a sculpture made by a French artist Auguste Rodina, who made this epic sculptural to depict a scene from ‘The Inferno’, which is the first section of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.
But here in this article, the term ‘Gates of Hell’ is being used with reference to all those six places on our planet that are believed to be actual doorways into the Hell.
According to Christian legend and numerous ancient myths, each ‘Gate of Hell’ is actually a passageway to the frightening underworld for the damned and the list of ‘Gates of Hell’ includes a cave in the jungles of Central America, a lake of fire in Africa and a volcano in Iceland.
Though in today’s modern and scientific era, where myths and legends are only used to amuse children, it is quite embarrassing and hard to believe on the existence of any such place, yet, even today, some among us firmly believe that ‘’Gates of Hell’ actually exist.
They say there is something more interesting behind all this as they believe that ‘Gates of Hell’ is not just a myth.
But the reason, why the term ‘Gates of Hell’ is among hot searches of today, is that, last night on 17th August, 2010 at 8:00 pm ET, the History Channel premiered a documentary called the ‘Gates of Hell’.
In this history, all the places known as the ‘Gates of Hell’ were explored by the group of explorers. They also discussed the history and origin of the hell.
