George Steinbrenner, the principle owner of New York Yankees died in Tampa on 13th July 2010. George Steinbrenner had a massive heart attack at his home, which took his life at the age of 80.
George Steinbrenner started his journey in 1973 with New York Yankees, at that time; the team was nothing for anyone. He worked hard, established team, defined and designed rules, implemented and broke them too.
Hired several players and managers, fired them and hired them again, got suspended two times in his career as owner of a team and it’s a world record. Whatever he did, whatever he spoke and whatever decisions he made, surely he had only one thing in mind and that is “The Best Interest of the Team”. And today New York Yankees is one of the most favorite baseball team.
It is really needless to discuss that people liked him or not. He started his career with an aim, remained stick to the plan, worked in his own natural way, built one of the finest team in the history of baseball and got his desired results. In George Steinbrenner ownership from 1973 till his death, New York Yankees won seven World Series and 11 Pennants.
George Steinbrenner was highly honored at All Star Games and people really paid him a fitting tribute. Flags were down, eyes were filled with tears, and nearly 46,000 remembered him in their prayers and he will be remembered for a very long time in the history of Baseball.
