Glenn Shadix, a widely-known and much famed American actor most likely known for his role as ‘Otho’ – a pretentious interior decorator – in Tim Burton’s horror cum comedy film titled ‘Breetlijuice’, has died in Alabama. Glen Shadix was 58.

According to various sources, earlier today on Wednesday 8th September, 2010 actor Glenn Shadix was found dead in his house in Alabama. The apparent cause of his death is still not known.

Juliet Green, Glenn Shadix’ personal manager, told The Associated Press “Glenn Shadix died in his Birmingham home. However, I don’t immediately know the cause of death”.

Glenn Shadix’s sister, Susan Gagne, told The Birmingham News that her brother, Glen Shadix, who had been using a wheelchair to get around in his house, appeared to have fallen in his kitchen and hit his head to the ground.

Glenn Shadix, who was casted in Tim Burton’ 1988 cult-classic comedy film as a droll interior designer, also gave his voice in ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and had appeared in numerous TV shows as well.

About his role in ‘Beetlijuice’, Glenn Shadix always maintained “there is a part of me that is not surprised. We had so much fun filming this strange and so very innovative movie that I had a feeling something very special was happening”.

Glenn Shadix also worked in TV and enjoyed an inveterate role in the HBO drama titled ‘Carnivàle’, where Glenn Shadix portrayed Jerry’s landlord on Seinfeld.

According Glenn Shadix’s official website, the memorial services will be held on Saturday 11th September, 2010 at his place in Birmingham.
