In order to maintain Brett Favre’s status as a much famed dream starter and to keep the passing game going while Sidney Rice is out, the Vikings have reportedly picked up WR Greg Camarillo from the Dolphins.

According to the latest updates, yesterday on Wednesday 25th August, 2010, just one day after signing veteran free agent Javon Walker, the Minnesota Vikings also traded in wide receiver, Greg Camarillo, from the Miami Dolphins swapping over cornerback, Benny Sapp. However, the deal is conditional upon both the players passing a physical test!

The fantasy starter for the Vikings, Brett Favre, said after practice on Wednesday “We have to get on board together rather quickly, obviously. It will be tougher. I’m not going to sit here and lie to you. It will be tougher than we had hoped. So we’ve got our work cut out for us.”

Greg Camarillo, who bounced back from a ragged ACL in 2008 to catch 105 passes for 1,165 yards and two touchdowns over the last two years, would certainly be more than just a mere slot receiver for the his new team.

The Minnesota Vikings have rated Greg Camarillo as a ‘Deep Threat’ and that’s exactly what makes him a more realistic fit to replace Harvin than Rice.

Last season Greg Camarillo, who was a starter in the past two years, made only 50 catches for 552 yards and no touchdowns.

However, he is expected to be best remembered in Miami Dolphins for his 64-yard touchdown catch in overtime against Baltimore that led Dolphins towards their lone victory in 2007.
