According to the latest Iceland News Updates Reykjavik became another site of natures detester, when a volcano erupted. Iceland news reports shows that the state of emergency has been declared in the southern region Reykjavik after the eruption of a volcano.

The sudden volcanic eruption has endangered three communities near the area. Reports show that the glacier that erupted today on Sunday morning 21st March.

The Eyjafallajoekull glacier which is situated about 120 K.M east of Reykjavik erupted this morning, but authorities have successfully evacuated over 500 people from the area, who were living in the nearby areas. Iceland news media reported that there were no injuries or casualties were reported.

According to Iceland news media a geological survey team, who was surveying the area on the helicopter found a 500 meter split in ice, after an underneath eruption of volcano, before the morning eruption of Eyjafallajoekull glacier.

It has been reported that the authorities are very cautious after the volcanic eruption, as the fear that floods could come in due to the melting of ice.

Iceland news reports shows that all the national and international flights o all destination s have been canceled after the volcanic eruption.

It has been reported that the authorities are still unable to find the volcanic eruption centre.

According to Iceland news reports the island was primitively shaped by the volcanic activities. It has also been said that a number of volcano’s are still active in the area and the last known volcanic activity seen in the area was 10 years ago, when Hekla erupted.
