Former Lead Singer for rock band Warrant Jani Lane was found dead in a hotel in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

His body was found at the Comfort Inn Hotel in Woodland Hills, California. So for cause of death has not been released officially.

Jani Lane allegedly penned the band’s ever hit Cherry Pie in 1989 before he went for the solo flight in music industry.

Lane had been facing alcohol related issues and he had been ordered to serve 120 days in jail when he was arrested in DUI in 2010 which was his second in two years.

The whole metal community is mourning the death of Jani Lane; Slash posted the message saying, “Just heard about Jani Lane. What a shame. RIP man.” Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue said, “I just heard the sad news about Jani Lane. So hard to swallow when people have kids. RIP.”

While Alice Cooper declared Jani Lane Fallen Brother, Bret Michaels of Poison said, “We’d like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss.”

Jani Lane was 47 at the time of his death.
