Malar Augmentation or cheek implants is a common phrase that describes surgical procedure to develop the form of a person`s cheeks. This is a comparatively minor process that restructures cheekbones, balancing facial skin and restoring a youthful and vibrant appearance.
The preferred outcome is to modify the form or size of the cheek or to correct flaws caused by birth defects or wound. The surgery is normally easy, quick, and simple and this process gives the face a more comparative and fair look. This process is often performed along with Rhinoplasty, Neck Liposuction, and/or Chin Augmentation.
Malar Augmentation procedure normally takes one to three hours depending on the level of the process and patients are given common anesthesia during this process.
After the process, patients may have a little lack of sensation, bulge or distress at the incision sight but this is usual and will pass with time. Incision spot pain is generally least, but can be controlled with prescription if essential. Some provisional bulge and bruising of the face are to be expected; however, keeping the head somewhat high when reclining and applying cold compresses may help diminish bulge.
Antibiotics may be prescribed to stop infection. Chewing may be hard for about two weeks, and tension or lack of sensation around the treated part may happen for a period of time, brushing the teeth is often hard for some days. Soft food and liquids are always recommended by the doctors.
