Veteran Canadian comic actress Nancy Dolman has departed. No details about her sudden death were given immediately. Nancy Dolman was 58.
Her manager confirmed the news on Monday 23rd August, 2010 by saying that Nancy Dolman, Canadian star Martin Short’s wife of 30 years, was found dead Saturday morning at couple’s home in Pacific Palisades.
Nancy Dolman’s manager denied giving further details, however, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reportedly responded to a medical emergency at the home at 8:30 am on Saturday 21st August, 2010.
Nancy Dolman, who is best known for her recurring role as Annie Selig Tate on ABC’s sitcom Soap, met Martin Short, who is a 60-year-old Canadian-born comedian, actor and singer most notable for his comedic roles on Saturday Night Live and Second City Television, during the run of the 1972 production of ‘Godspell’.
Afterwards the couple began dating and finally got married in 1980. The couple had three children; 27-year-old Katherine Elizabeth, 24-year-old Oliver Patrick and Henry who was born in 1989.
Katherine Elizabeth, the eldest daughter of Nancy Dolman, is currently attending New York University. In 2003, Katherine, who has now become an aspiring actress, was chosen to serve as Queen Shenandoah LXXVI for the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.
According to the New York Daily News, Nancy Dolman has been diagnosed with cancer in year 2007. So, it is quite possible that her death is related to her cancer diagnosis, however, at present it is unknown as no relevant information has been given so far by her family.
