Today on Thursday 19th August, 2010 Nikon launched its new D3100 i.e. a new easy-to-use DSLR camera with HD video capabilities.

According to Jordi Brinkman, who is the product manager for Nikon in Europe, along with its 14.2 megapixels lens, Live-View with new AF modes, improved ergonomics and full HD movie, the Nikon D3100 is the descendant to Europe’s best selling D-SLR, the D-3000.

Brinkman further added “Nikon D3100 also has the popular Guide Mode as seen on the D-3000, which now shows you sample images of what you can get with certain settings. For example if you change the shutter speed or aperture.

This is the ideal camera for families who want to capture all the important moments in perfect quality, without worrying about settings”.

In Nikon D3100, an 11-point autofocus has been introduced along with Live View with Scene Auto Selector that has the capability to recognize at least 35 faces at a time. The new Nikon D3100 will also sport a 14.2 megapixel CMOS image sensor which has ISO 100-3200 sensitivity.

The Nikon D3100 is HDMI compatible so you can connect your camera to an HD television.

As per the comments distributed by the Nikon, for all the newcomers the Nikon D3100 has a Guide Mode i.e. the same as seen on the D3000.

Nikon D1300 will be available in shops sometime around the end of September in £499.99 for body and in £579.99 for 18-55mm lens kit.

Well, with a view of all these features in mind, it seems that users will get a range of automatic settings, allowing the camera to do all the hard work, much like on a compact camera.
