In America, we have posing for Playboy, sex tapes and underage drinking that can get you stripped of your beauty crown, but in New Zealand, I guess they observe more hard and fast rules, as the 15-year-old Olivia O Neil has been forced to abandon her ‘Miss Teen Wanganui’ crown after a beauty pageant coordinator saw the latest ‘Facebook’ photos of Olivia O Neil with her newly-dyed brown hair.
Isn’t that quaint enough!
According to various Kiwi newspapers, Olivia o Neil was stripped off from beauty pageant for dying her hair and Barbara Osborne, the organizer in question who reportedly saw the pictures and asked the teen-queen if it was a wig, has also been removed from the pageant after she allegedly disgraced and demoralized Olivia O Neil.
Osborne asked Olivia O Neil “I hope it is a wig, don’t give me heart failure”. But Olivia O Neil replied that it was not a wig and when the stripped off queen asked if it wasn’t ‘pageant worthy’ to have brown hair, the organizer not only disgraced her but also demoralize her saying “Well, you better decide, miss. Hand over your crown with an attitude like that. I’m sure someone will step into your place with manners. You will not go far in this world”.
The new pageant spokesman, Jevan Goulter, confirmed the news by saying that Olivia O Neil was stripped of her crown because she failed to maintain the image she had when she won it. The same source also confirmed that Osborne has also been removed from the organization.
