Omar Thornton, 34, pulled out a gun and went on a shooting extravaganza at the family-owned beer wholesaler Tuesday morning, killing at least eight of his co-workers and wounding several others before finally committing suicide.
The sources said “Omar Thornton, a Connecticut truck driver, was caught stealing beer had been given two choices i.e. quit or be fired, but Omar Thornton, the black guy who complained about being racially harassed at work, had something far dangerous in his mind”.
However, on the other end, as per the comments distributed by his family members, Omar Thornton, the person accused for the Tuesday morning bloodbath at Hartford Distributors, was a quiet and hard-working man who didn’t even showed an aggressive and violent attitude ever. They said “we believe, he was surely pushed to the breaking point by means of harassment at work”.
According to the statement issued by the CBS affiliate ‘WFSB’, Thornton’s mother, Joanne Hannah, who resides in East Hartford, received a phone call from her son, Omar Thornton, shortly after 7 am on Tuesday morning,
in which the suspect revealed that he had shot several people at the beer distribution plant where he worked and that he planned to take his own life. She said Omar Thornton told “I just shot the five racists who were out to get me. I took care of them who were bothering me, Mom”.
Joanne Hannah further added “I spent 10 minutes trying to talk to him, pleading with him to change his mind, but he denied”.
And minutes later, Omar Thornton was reported dead!
