Like every American, President Obama too has great love for basketball, and for March Madness he can take some time out even when the Tea Party is protesting outside the Capitol and the healthcare reform bill is in the line! So, with ESPN’s Andy Katz and Doris Burke, President Obama releases his bracket.

President Obama’s bracket – The Final Four for men’s and women’s basketball championships

President Obama picked Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, and Villanova as the Final Four of men’s basketball championship. For women’s basketball tournament, President Obama has Stanford, Tennessee, Connecticut, and Notre Dame as his Final Four bracket. It was the first time that President Obama filled out the women’s basketball bracket with ESPN and was the second year in a row to fill out the men’s basketball bracket while sitting with ESPN anchors.

Apparently, President Obama is a huge fan of basketball and occasionally plays the game whenever he has the time. During the 2008 campaign, Mr. Obama even played with the North Carolina’s men’s team.

President Obama’s bracket has been covered by ESPN on Wednesday. President Obama’s bracket in 2009 was quite accurate and he correctly picked North Carolina to be the men’s champion. Reportedly while making his bracket President Obama was aware of the team injuries, shining players of the teams, and key matchups.

Interestingly, President Obama’s champion is Kansas and he says that his choice has been influenced by the U.S. health secretary who is a fanatic fan of Kansas Jayhawks.

Also, more interestingly, President Obama’s bracket has many similarities with that of Dick Vitale and the two have similar Final Four teams but different champions.
