Pulling off his one-man political revolution just last night, the first-time ever politician Rick Scott has reportedly beaten out the longtime politician Attorney General Bill McCollum in the Republican primary for governor. Now, Rick Scott will face Democrat Alex Sink in the race towards the Governor’s mansion.

In one of the most expensive primary in the history of Florida and the ugliest as well, Rick Scott, who is a former health-care executive, defeated Bill McCollum on Tuesday night to win the Republican nomination.

As per the results received from 97% of precincts, Rick Scott had 46 percent of the vote in comparison to McCollum’s 43 percent. The most noticeable point is that, Rick Scott held that lead all night!

Rick Scott, while talking to 150 supporters in Fort Lauderdale, said “The people of Florida have spoken and I’ve liked what they said. It’s sobering news for the special interests. They know I don’t owe them anything”.

Just half an hour before Rick Scott was planned to come out to deliver his scorching speech, McCollum, who at first wasn’t seemed willing to give up so easily, appeared before a cheering crowd and said “”It’s very clear to us that this is going to be a much longer night.

Hundreds of outstanding precincts in South Florida — especially Miami-Dade – can put me over the top”.

“However, still we’re not where we want to be” he acknowledged.

And at around 12:30 this morning, Bill McCollum’s campaign issued an acknowledgment statement that called off his three-decade political career!
