Rocko actually Rodney Hill grew up with his two sisters in Atlanta. Rocko has already had a very young age to fight and learn to make the most of his difficult life circumstances.

“My mother and my grandmother were the main caregivers in my life,” explains the rapper. “My father was not there for me, so I had a lot of much older people learn in my circle. In my neighborhood I saw a lot of growing up and perish. I did not go into the same statistics. Why I concentrated on my own path and depart my best to never like this!

Rocko started his music career as a producer and ghostwriter in the studio of his cousin in 1999, and later worked for the small indie label Triple A Records. Because of his success with the label-Act Hitman Sammy Sam, he decided to go from then on his own musical paths and founded in 2002 Rocky Road Records.

He had great ability to discover artists like Young Dro and Dem Franchize Boyz and to help them in their development before they became Major Artists. 2003 Rocko himself in the texts and tried to put out his first mixtape, NWA (No Wack Artist).

However, it should be only his second tape Swag Season (2007) to bring the attention of the music scene. It contained the features of the breakout stars of the rap in 2006, Jim Jones and Rick Ross and sold throughout Georgia and neighboring states. After a front-page feature in the Southern rap magazine Ozone, Iceland offered an exclusive Def Jam Rocko.

Rocko’s debut album “Self Made” is inspired by the indefatigable will of the rapper and his way as a self-taught. It contains tracks will inspire the listener to follow in the footsteps of the artist. Songs like “This Morning” and “Tomorrow” are intended to encourage work and to act from the consolidation of one’s own sense of purpose, while another is “Shoot Me Down” by the ability to deal with obstacles that present themselves stuck in your own way.

With his restless work ethic Rocko wants to shape his future with his musical work. “I’m a workaholic,” admits Rocko. “For the next few years I will work hard on the limit, just to get to the point where I can say: Here I wanted to go!”
