NASA’s space shuttle is ready to take off for the final mission. The space shuttle is ready to leave earth for space from Kennedy Space Center today in Florida. The space ship will remain in space for 12 weeks and six team members will work to accomplish the mission.
The space shuttle is planned to launch at 2:20 pm from Cape Carnival to the International Space Station orbiting earth. The shuttle will remain in space for almost two weeks. The team of the NASA shuttle is comprised of six astronauts along with Commander Ken Ham.
The mission has the plans to deliver a module of Russian research. The Russian research module is based on installation of new batteries for dish antenna and also includes the replacement of old parts.
Patrick Barrett, one of the officers of the weather monitoring of the mission stated that most probably, the weather will remain favorable for the mission. He stated that the weather is looking good and our main concern is to observe low clouds.
NASA is expecting some good support from the current administration of Mr. Obama as Mr. President has already announced additional budget of $600 million for the Canady Space Center, the budget is yet to be proved by the congress.
Atlantis was the first ship which was handed over to Kennedy Space Center in 1985 and it made its first journey in the same year.
