Rev Terry Jones, the California based Christian pastor, says that he is willing to go ahead with plans to burn the copies of the Qur’an on 11th September, 2010 despite all the criticism coming right from the top officials like the White House, the State Department and the top US general in Afghanistan, as well as a mass of other renowned religious leaders.
Over his disrespectful plans to stage a Qur’an burning day to commemorate the 9/11 attacks, Terry Jones, the gun-toting Christian pastor at the centre of international outrage in California, said “I am determined to go ahead in the face of violent conviction from the Obama administration”.
According to multiple local sources, Terry Jones has planned to lead the burning of at least 200 copies of the Muslim Holy Book called ‘The Qur’an’ at his Dove World Outreach Centre in Gainesville, Florida.
Terry Jones further added “I am willing to go ahead and even more than 100 death threats would not put me off Saturday’s event”.
While giving an interview to the ABC television, Terry Jones revealed the purpose behind doing this act by saying “if we don’t do it now, when do we stop backing down? It’s something we need to do, it’s a message we need to send”.
Now, so far, it appears that despite all threats Terry Jones is rather willing and all set to send his message to the Muslim world, but at the same time, it also seems that our dear pastor Mr. Terry Jones is not aware of the aftermaths of his disrespectful act!
