As per the synopsis of this murder case, Selene Quintanilla, who was a Mexican-American singer and actor, was murdered brutally at the age of 23 by Yolanda Saldívar, the president of her fan club. Warner Bros produced a film ‘Selena’ that was based on her life. Jenifer Lopez played Selena Quintanilla and the film was released in 1997.
On 12th April, 1995 after 14 days of her death, Texas governor of that time, Mr. George W. Bush, declared her birthday “Selena Day” in Texas and since then the day has been celebrated in the loving memory of that beautiful lady.
But unfortunately, even after fifteen years from the time when Yolanda Saldivar murdered Selena Quintanilla, the motive behind the crime still remains a mystery as today, not only does Quintanilla’s family but her fans as well, have been looking for reasons and motives behind the 1995 tragic shooting.
